Aging screenwriter John Brooks, believing his is being ostracized because of age, hires an aggressive young turk, Eddie Wise, to front his screenplays. This ploy proves incredibly successful until Eddie betrays John’s trust by changing John’s vision. This creates repercussions for: John; his best friend and agent, Adam; his actress wife, Ronnie; and her best friend, ex-50s movie star Grace. Full of red herrings, The Gray List, examines ageism, talent, ambition, Hollywood history, fame, and truth. It culminates in a scene that will have the audience shocked, possibly offended, then amused by their own gullibility as well as that of one of the characters.
