Book and Lyrics by Allan Provost
Music by John Dusenberry
This five-character musical is about Millard Fillmore’s administration, but even more about his family and his wife Abigail. While providing interesting historical facts, this play also presents a very touching love story. Among the notable scenes and songs are their quarrel about the Fugitive Slave Act, “Out There”; and their leaving the White House: “Love’s Golden Age”. This is an ideal adult musical, but also perfect for high school production and can be performed with as few as four actors and a piano.
